Rick Noriega in Waco!

From the Desk of

Jim Dunnam

State Representative, District 57

I want to take this opportunity to ask you to join me in welcoming State Representative Rick Noriega to Waco.  Rick is running for the United States Senate and I would invite you to come visit with Rick and see what he is about.  I have known Rick for years and he is an individual with unique talents.  He can instantly evaluate a situation and immediately analyze and work out difficult tasks with relative ease.  He understands the concepts of personal ability, needs,  and he has the problem-solving  skills that we need in Washington.

As a young man from the working class neighborhoods of Houston and the son of a paratrooper, Rick Noriega learned early on about the importance of service. In the wake of the Iran hostage crisis, Rick answered the call and enlisted in the United States Army and began his own path of service – to his country as a soldier, to his state as a legislator, and to his community as a leader.

Thirty years after that young man enlisted, Rick Noriega — now a Lt. Colonel in the Army National Guard, a member of the Texas Legislature, a husband and a father – again answered the call, serving in Afghanistan with the Texas National Guard in the aftermath of another attack on innocent Americans.

Rick Noriega’s dedication to public service has extended beyond the battlefield. Elected to the Texas House of Representatives in 1998, Rick has distinguished himself in leading bipartisan efforts for teacher pay raises, border security and opening doors for Texas students to attend college.

Please join me in welcoming Rick to Waco on August 31 at noon at the El Conquistador Restaurant.

                                                                        Sincerely

                                                                        Jim Dunnam
