The great upheaval

No, not the Lege. You should have learned by now that I quit paying attention to that unimportant body some time ago.

While Common Sense Mom was away on her Caribbean Cruise, I usurped her bedroom. I weighed the pros and cons:

Pros

  • Cooler all day long, unlike the sauna that my bedroom is.
  • Nearer the bathroom, so there is less of a walk.
  • Queen-sized bed. And its one of those sleep number beds that you can make softer and my leg loves it!

Cons

  • Longer walk to the kitchen for a bottle of water at night.
  • Her cable reception is shitty. I can’t even get USA.
  • All the shows that I DVR, I don’t get to watch until the weekend when she goes out dancing with that loser guy Donnie.

So, to solve everyone’s problems, we’re just going to switch bedrooms this weekend. I have a bunch of junk I need to throw out anyway and so does she and this will be good for us with packratitis to get rid of useless things.

Also, I don’t think the carpets have been shampooed or cleaned in ages. The area rug that used to be in my bedroom can now go in the living room since the dogs have moved outside. So can that stupid chair we put in my room. I never got to sit in it, it was just where extra clothes got put during laundry when I ran out of hangers. It’s ugly and it was just something that a friend gave her for free. Like a pack rat, she always imagined “fixing it up” but that was never going to happen. I’m going to work on getting it tossed in the garbage.

And I need a new book case. I’ve had the same one since I was four, but my personal library has grown quite a bit since then. I have books scattered all over the house. We have a bunch of empty walls in the TV room that are crying out for books! And a decent chair in which to read them. And a lamp.

I’m keeping her bed, though.
