This just shocked the hell out of me when I read it.

“I’m not able to work anymore as an actor at the level I would want to,” Newman, 82, told ABC’s “Good Morning America” on Thursday. “You start to lose your memory, your confidence, your invention. So that’s pretty much a closed book for me.”

All I can say is Cool Hand Luke is one of the best films ever made and Space Monkey and I are going to be sad to see him go. I felt the same way when Charlton Heston hung up his spurs, but then I saw Bowling for Columbine and realized he was a total dick. Newman’s not like that, he’s a really good actor and a nice guy. He never let it get to his head.
