Libby was found guilty today of both obstruction of justice and perjury. Everyone knew he was going to be found guilty. How does someone make an orchestrated attack on someone else, have multiple conversations about this someone for over a month, then “forget” who that person is three days later?

That’s just ludicrous and the fact that was what he actually offered as a defense in this trial shows just how little this administration cares about the truth, whatever it may be.

The really big thing is that Cheney and Rove have gotten off scot free.

Yet Cheney, perhaps the administration’s most ardent supporter of the war, remains largely untouched by the investigation and trial of Lewis “Scooter” Libby that painted the powerful vice president as one keenly interested in discrediting the critic of the administration’s pre-war intelligence…

More than three years after a White House spokesman maintained that “if anyone in this administration was involved in it, they would no longer be in this administration,” Cheney and Rove steadfastly refuse to comment on the investigation.

Maybe, or maybe not. I’ve heard somewhere that Fitzgerald may try to flip Libby so he can go after the veep. That’ll be a bigger fish than just Rove.
