Lieberman concedes!
Published by Nate Nance August 8th, 2006 in Democratic Party, Noteworthy News, National Politics, This WeblogFrom the Hartford Courant:
U.S. Sen. Joseph I. Lieberman conceded defeat just after 11 p.m. in the bitter Connecticut primary.
But Lieberman pledged to continue his candidacy as an independent in the general election in November.
That dick is going to keep on going, even though he lost. If I were a nicer person, I would grant that I would feel somewhat cheated by events. I may even feel I was the scapegoat for a lot of the problems within my own party.
But I’m not nice, so I’m going to call him a dick again. He’s going to try and split the Dem and Indy vote in a state that is realiably blue, giving no-name (because he uses a fake one) Republican guy a decent shot at winning.
UPDATE: BOR links Lieberman with known Texans.
If we are to complain about having a distracting election going into the fall, it’s not because Lamont won, it’s your fault for not accepting the results of a primary election like anyone else and believe that the world owes him a seat in the Senate. You rank right up there with Tom Delay in the “I own this seat and fuck everyone else” category.
Lamont has beaten the Democratic Party’s 2000 Vice Presidential nominee. Lieberman had all the help in the world he could ask for or buy. For his loss, he has no one to blame but himself.
Exactly. Who else do we know in Texas that Lieberman is like?
Joe, former Texas Republican Carole Strayhorn would like to officially welcome you, a fellow Party turncoat, into the Independent fold. You can give her a kiss as you join her in defeat this November.
