An end to the Ramonce
Published by Nate Nance July 25th, 2006 in SportsLonghorn sophomore tailback Ramonce Taylor has announced he is transferring to another university. You may know of Taylor because of the 15 touchdowns he scored last year for UT during their national championship season. Or, you may know of him for getting busted with five pounds of pot in Bell County in May. Chances are you have heard of him.
“Frederick Douglass once said: No struggle, no progress,” Taylor said in the statement, referring to the Civil War-era abolitionist. “I’ve had my share of struggles and now it’s time for progress.”
Taylor, who would’ve been a junior next season, was arrested in Bell County in May when police found more than four pounds of marijuana in a backpack in his truck. His lawyer has said that the drugs were not Taylor’s.
I can’t believe he actually quoted Frederick Douglass.
Anywho, he has not yet announced where he’s going, but the marijuana charge might mean he’s going to jail for 2-20 years. I’ll keep you posted.
