Melody Damayo, better known to some as pornstar Mimi Miyagi, is running for governor of Nevada as a Republican. I know what you’re thinking, you think I only like her because of her porn past. How little you know me. I like her because she’s a good example of why porn isn’t for everybody.

You can read her backstory at Lukeisback. She retired from adult for the last time in 2003 after leaving her husband who had connections to the Italian mafia. She accused him of verbal and physical abuse, poisoning her and witholding access to their daughter for months at a time. She was also held for psychiatric treatment thanks to her brother, who had connections to asian gangs. Her life is just one long, sad story.

But she’s taking those hardships and making a positive turn out of all of it. She’s running for major political office with an agenda of education, so I support her. It’s probably a crazy Republican plan, but I don’t live in Nevada so I don’t care.
