A long time ago, I wrote this post about Pat Robertson and crazy religious cult people that protest military funerals. The story I linked to mentioned Pfc. David Martin’s funeral and the Westboro Baptist Church members who made a mockery out of it.

“OKLAHOMA CITY – With her 6-year-old son wearing a shirt saying, “God hates homosexuals,” Shirley Phelps-Roper greeted mourners attending a slain soldier’s funeral in Edmond this week with signs predicting the downfall of America. Ms. Phelps-Roper was one of a handful of members of the Westboro Baptist Church in Topeka, Kan., at Tuesday’s funeral Army Pfc. David Martin. The church members, who have protested soldiers’ funerals in Oklahoma and elsewhere, say God is punishing U.S. soldiers for defending a country that harbors gays.” –Associated Press
