I’m going to be in Fort Worth this weekend representing my precinct, yo. I’m a delegate, but I’m also a blogger so I got credentials to cover the event from the floor.

This is where it gets complicated because I’m a complicated person. The big thing for those of us gathering in Fort Worth is the TDP chair race. I have a horse in that race, Glen Maxey, and I know I’m voting for him when the time comes. And I hope you do too. In fact, I would go so far as to say that I officially endorse Glen Maxey for Texas Democratic Party chair, if that’s carries any weight with you (crickets chirping).

But I doubt you’ll see me handing out bumper stickers or tokens of any kind to try and get you to vote for him, too. I’m not an activist or an insider, so I can’t tell you what the inside track is on the race or what will be going on specifically at the convention center. I can only tell you who I am picking and hope that carries some weight with you.

Sure, I could be an insider, but that’s just not me. This weekend, I am strictly a disinterested observer. I’m not even taking business cards for networking. I’ll cover things from the floor, and from at least the Blogger Caucus on Friday night (at Flying Saucer, 111 E. 4th in Fort Worth. Be there). But that’s about it.
